Teamwork--between the family, the child, and the professionals that work with them--is emphasized in this videotape from the Braille Institute of America.  Viewed mostly from the perspective of teachers of the visually impaired, this film emphasizes the uniqueness of each child and the importance of parents and siblings (if a parent of a child with visual impairment does not realize the importance they have in their child’s life, this is a must-see video for them!)  The video also shares techniques and ideas for parents to help develop their child’s vision and to make learning fun and functional.  Finally, the video assists parents and teachers to build on the child's interests, set the stage for mainstreaming the child into the sighted world, and use playtime as an educational tool, inspiring the child's independence.
